In January 2006, Cocoa is venturing inside the house for long
periods. She often climbs a vertical support
beam and looks down
at everything for a while. She is much more comfortable on the beam
than on the floor.
The beam is about 3.5 metres tall. The sofas
freak her out somewhat, and she sometimes glares at them
or looks
as if she is hypnotized. (Possums often do this sort of thing.
Sometimes they have a 'stunned mullet'
look.) She also climbs the
banisters, and looks like a little gargoyle when she poses on the
ball on top of the
post.
There is a candle on a waist-high stand in the living room - a few
times Cocoa has scratched it with her teeth.
Although the scent
has faded, it originally had a spicy-chocolate bouquet, so it
probably smells like food to
Cocoa.
