wax on, wax off. ack, couldn't resist the reference. it took many hours to sand this floor, and do all the other preparatory work. this was done around august/september last year. no more rotting beige carpet.. i had done the floor in the xescelair the previous year. gk showed me what to do and i did most of it, but with my dance floor (the living room floor), he did a lot as well.
after applying the shiny stuff. the glare from the flash makes it not look quite as good as it does in real life. i think the space is larger than it appears in the photo. (some of the space is cut off in this photo.) photo is taken from the next storey up. what you can't see is that the ceiling is very high.
i feel the approach of a period of intense creativity. i have a lot of ideas regarding choreography, scenes, effects, etc, but i'm not sure i will be able to realize these ideas in a way that i will be happy with. i will give it a try, and see what happens. i should probably mention that gk bought a digital video camera a few weeks ago. he has already used it during our recent travels, mostly to film the wildlife. (i am putting a few updates on my travel page today.) i haven't tried to use it yet, except to briefly film gk dancing. i am afraid to see how i will look on film. i am afraid that seeing how i look will ruin dancing for me in a way. however, i would never have imagined that i would become quite comfortable taking photos of myself with a digital camera and processing those images. maybe i can take it to the next step and learn to process moving images.
i would like to use other locations as well. i think though that this is where i will start out, this is where i can experiment privately. i am not sure yet if i will try to do all filming on my own, or if i will try to direct gk in filming me. i am not sure yet how long it will take to produce anything viewable. i have this feeling that i want to work on as many of my ideas as possible before putting anything out there, and that may take some time. i also have other ideas related to my new website that will take time to develop.
