So far we don't have many photos of sugar gliders. They are very
small marsupials that like to hang out at the tops of gum trees. They
have a special membrane that stretches out to help them glide for up
to 50 m. When gliding, they may look a little like bats, except they
have striped heads and fluffy tails.
[So far, we have no photos of fruit bats/flying foxes. I find these
bats impressive, and have seen them here, but it is difficult to
photograph them.]
On a couple of occasions, GK has tried to lure sugar gliders with
pure maple syrup. After observing a sugar glider lick a popsicle
stick clean, GK next observed it rabidly biting into the tree, as if
to try to get more maple syrup.
