Xesce:

Boo, are you out there?

Two days ago (21.02.24, in the early afternoon here, late evening the 20th in Canada), the police called me, saying my brother Boo in Canada had contacted them. He said he was worried about me, that he had tried to email me (here at my domain email), and he gave a phone number. He said he had received a handwritten letter from me, and that is was unusual for me to contact him this way.

I already knew the phone number by heart. It was the one I had been trying - from three different phones. Both Possum Dreaming and I have sent him various emails, from two accounts each. I sent my first one January 24th or so (second the next day) - and we haven't received any replies. We most recently sent more emails a couple of days ago, and have not received any replies.

This would seem to suggest that my 'feeling' I had been hacked, that the phones and internet here have been compromised, might be correct.

The police seemed to shrug things off, saying keep trying.

If Boo was concerned enough to call police all the way across the world, give a phone number and say he had tried to contact me in the usual way (email), is it logical that he would after contacting police not be near his phone? Or give email another go? Try other accounts?

Calling from one of PD's mobiles, it seemed we eventually got through to an answering machine yesterday morning (23.02.24, approx. 6:24am our time, 3:24 pm the 21st Canada). I left a message telling him to call me, but have not received a reply.

Yesterday (23rd) at approx. 10:45 am here, 8:45pm (22nd) Canada, someone from the acute care team associated with a hospital (the same hospital as the night of my 000 call), called me (here at Possum Dreaming's house on his mobile phone) to say that because police had not yet gotten back to him regarding their visit to me in the house here, Boo had called them to check in on me. (Possibly the police had given their number the first day, saying if you don't hear back from us, try these guys.)

The acute care team member did not say Boo had received any calls or emails from me or PD, just that he hadn't heard back from police. I pressed her, but she didn't know much about his call.

I wasn't very nice to her, and I apologize for that. Also, I understand that it won't help me resolve things if people see 'evidence' that I'm unhinged, and that I need help restoring objectivity and a sense of priority.

It's incredibly frustrating that it's not just with banks, phones, internet companies you have to tell a complicated story over and over from scratch - that this also applies to police and mental health care personnel, even when it involves traumatic or extremely stressful events and feelings.

However, in the current situation, to me it seems logical that I'd be worried that Boo and I can't get in touch via email or phone. This seems like a police matter, but maybe there aren't cyber units or something yet? It seems to me that I am right that somehow phones, email accounts, internet here are being interfered with. Boo said he tried to email. I have received zero emails from Boo, and don't know if he's received any from me.

This is not about me and Boo being so out of touch for so long that we don't really understand each other. It's fucking scary when you can't get police or health care professionals to recognize this. And if Boo is now nervous about using phones or email because he knows me well enough to believe I might be hacked and in danger, and I know him well enough to know this could be an issue, it's pretty fucking scary when you can't get authority figures to help and are finding out they're really bad at Telephone.

Now I'm worried about Boo.
